From the deepest HST, Herschel, JVLA and ALMA data to the SKA precursors:  galaxy evolution through cosmic times, environments and feedback processes

Abstract: Over the last fifteen years dust-unbiased tracers of star formation have substantially improved our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution by defining  a compelling picture where cosmic stellar mass growth happened through a preferential channel of a ``secular/quiescent'' star formation punctuated by occasional  starburst events, and suggesting that it is mainly gas infall that regulates star formation and black hole accretion over cosmic times. I will give a quick overview of my work on the Main Sequence of star-forming galaxies, and of ongoing projects that use SKA precursors to 1) explore the connection between black hole activity and galaxy star formation history and 2) study star formation properties and nuclear activity of galaxy populations in the Spiderweb protocluster at z~ 2.16, a prototypical progenitor of  massive galaxy clusters in the local Universe.

High resolution study of the multiphase gas in Local Seyfert Galaxies

Abstract: I will discuss the physics of the multiphase gas in local active galaxies, which are ideal to perform a detailed analysis of the interstellar medium (ISM) to quantify the impact of the Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) on the host galaxy. During their active phases, AGN can generate winds that interact with the host galaxy ISM, potentially altering both the star formation and the nuclear gas accretion. I will focus on the properties and kinematics of the cold molecular and warm ionised phases using ALMA interferometric and optical IFS (MUSE/VLT) data. Using modeling softwares, such as BBarolo and Kinemetry, it is possible to decouple kinematic perturbations from the ordered disk-like motion of the gas. I will discuss the main properties of the IBISCO sample, a sample of 57 local AGN hard X-ray selected in order to not be biased against nuclear absorption. This sample was built with the aim of studying the kinematics structures of the multiphase material including nuclear and galactic inflows or outflows motions, thus probing the feeding and feedback cycle in these objects. In addition I will focus on two peculiar cases: the nearby Seyfert galaxies ESO428-G14 and Mrk509. For these objects a detailed analysis of the kinematics structures revealed the presence of multiphase winds extended on galactic scales.
