Library - Journals
E-journals are to be used in accordance in accordance with the provisions of copyright law and in particular with the terms and conditions of the license agreement of individual journals.
Full access to licensed versions of is available from the Observatory's IP addresses only. For details on Username and Password access, please contant the Library staff.
Access to the full-text of INAF e-journals is possible by activating the INAF Library Proxy Service. Please do not hesitate to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for assistance to make use of this service.
To search for an article or a journal it is possible to consult the lists, catalogues and astronomical literature databases suggested below. If the item needed is not found it is possible to request it to the belonging library, just by sending the request using NILDE (1).
It is possible that the icon 
is already present in correspondence with the article of interest and by clicking on this icon, you can send the request directly from the editor’s website. By doing this the form will be automatically filled out with the necessary bibliographic information.
It is also possible to activate the service from ADS.
OATs current serials with links to electronic editions. Alphabetical list of journals subscribed by our library.
OATs serials (current, ceased or suspended subscription). The list is extracted from ACNP. Alternatively, a specific search can be performed.
INAF Digital Library. The catalogue of electronic serials of alla INAF libraries. Searches are performed in the Italian Serials Catalogue (ACNP). For each title the link to the journal homepage is given and other useful information such as the licensed material or the free access where possible.
INAF Libraries serials catalogue. Searches are performed in a section of ACNP dedicated to the Libraries of the Astronomical Observatories and the Universities Astronomical Departments in Italy.
Italian Libraries serials catalogue. Searches are performed in the complete ACNP catalogue. It includes the bibliographic descriptions of journals owned by Italian Libraries and includes all subjects.
ADS. Portal for researchers in Astronomy and Physics. The main body of data in the ADS consists of bibliographic records, which are searchable through highly customizable query forms.
ADS article service. The service provides access to the electronic verions of articles published in journals, Observatory/Scientific Association publications and conference proceedings.
DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals. The Directory aims to be comprehensive and covers all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content.
Starting from January 2011, users are invited to send the requests to the belonging library by using the online service NILDE (Network Inter-Library Document Exchange – Access to the tutorials for users), that allows the user to request articles, to know at any moment the state of their request until the documents have been received and manage their bibliographic information. Furthermore interested users can set up ADS (The SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System – Access the instructions to set it up) to send their requests directly from ADS that will automatically fill out the form with all the necessary bibliographic references and forward it to the library.
