The Instrument and Control Group of INAF - AOTs is involved in the design and implementation of hardware and software infrastructures that allow ground based astronomical instrumentation to be controlled (8-m class telescopes and beyond, attached focal plane instrumentation and millimetric/submillimetric instrumentation). Adopted software technologies are object-oriented methodologies and languages (UML, C++, Java, Python, CORBA, XML). In the field of hardware state-of-the-art solutions have been sought (mainly PLC, OPC-UA communication protocols, LabVIEW).
- ESPRESSO (Echelle SPectrograph for Rocky Exoplanets and Stable Spectroscopic Observations)
- BATMAN
- High-resolution Spectrograph for E-ELT
