“Trieste city of knowledge”. The Memorandum of Understanding signed at the Town Hall

"Universities, research and higher education institutions of Trieste metropolitan area together contribute to make Trieste district one of the European areas with the higher percentage of staff employed in research. The city of Trieste and its metropolitan area can thus aspire to become the attraction pole both for national and international students and scientists, with obvious and manifold benefits for the surrounding area and for its economy, bearing in mind its peculiar and appealing environmental, historical and cultural features.” On the above prerequisites is grounded and is reinforced the Memorandum of Understanding signed on Wednesday 14 June in the Salotto Azzurro of Trieste Town Hall by Angela Brandi, council member in charge of Education, University and Research, and by the representatives of all institutions which subscribed and supported this important initiative.  For INAF-Astronomical Observatory of Trieste the agreement was signed by the director, professor Stefano Borgani.
